Diana Tishchenko has just been awarded with the 1st Grand Prix Jacques Thibaud at the legendary Long-Thibaud-Crespin International Violin Competition 2018 in Paris by a prestigious jury (chairman: Renaud Capucon) and she also received a violin by Giovanni Battista Guadagnini 1754, given her on loan for 3 years; and furthermore a special prize by the label Warner Classics & Erato for a CD recording.
The Berlin-based violinist of ukrainian descent Diana Tishchenko played her debut concert with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin at Berlin’s Philharmonie, conducted by Joshua Weilerstein in 2014. The famous german newspaper der Tagesspiegel reviewed her performance with a following quote: Tishchenko „compels the listener even in the first measures of Dmitri Shostakovich’s Violin Concerto No. 1… With a tone of incessant, nuance-rich intensity, she opens our eyes to the inner drama of this piece…(...) Simply genius!”
